Africa Renewable Energy Alliance formed

Represenatives from variuos African countries meeting in Addis Ababa formed the Africa Renewable Energy Alliance ( AREA ). The aim of this alliance is to speed up electrification and take on climate change.

The initial work of the alliance will be funded by the World Future Council Foundation and the Alliance for Rural Electrification ( ARE ).

To use the renewable energies (wind and solar panel, geothermal and biomass energy), is very important for all countries. It may make a lot of changes in a country's situation.

Energy is central to achieve the interdependent economic, environmental and social aims of sustainable human development. Meeting the energy demands in Africa countries would not only considerably improve the basic living conditions and but also free a huge potential for sustained economic growth by narrowing the gap between rich and poor. Nevertheless, challenges ahead to be met by the stakeholders in the public and private sectors as well as in civil society organizations in Africa are enormous.
It is a good news for me, since I am involved extensively in renewable energy systems, energy and climate. I would be glad if you give me an opportunity to join the Africa Renewable Energy Alliance and contribute to this important issue. My vision is to develop and deliver clean, efficient and affordable energy to Africas through innovative environmentaly sound technology.

we are very happy to have this alliance formed and we wish this alliance to be fully advertised every where so that alot of organsiations may be involved.

Centre for children's Affairs malawi will be more than willing to be the members of teh forum in malawi,can you send us the membership details soonest the better.

creation of Africa Renewable Energy Alliance(AREA) is a very important move towards achievement of electrification in Africa.However,African's hopes that the electricity to be supplied is generated from the available local resources.electrification from local resources will not only lead to job creation in those areas but also inspire the youth to come up with better ways of energy production.
